The SSU Indie Film Fest Submission period is now open for Savannah State University faculty, staff, alumni and students from January 11th-March 14th, 2016.
Submit films to these 5 categories: Music Video, Horror/Sci-fi, Comedy, Documentary and Drama. THE GATHERING is for SSU faculty, students, and alumni who love film. We want to encourage everyone who has an interest in film to come to THE GATHERING and experience the projects that various filmmakers have in production. At THE GATHERING filmmakers will present a brief clip of a film are working on; and if the film is still in production they can use this event as a platform to find actors, songwriters and crew to help complete their film project. Filmmakers that are starting production completely from scratch can still use this event to meet actors, crew, etc. There will also be a small workshop at THE GATHERING about aspects of film production and more information will be released about the 2016 SSU Indie Film Festival. THE GATHERING will feature a section where students, faculty, and staff will present pieces they have been working on and others can solicit for a variety of positions they need to fill for films they are working on. This event is a precursor for the SSU Indie Film Festival that will be held in April 2016. THE GATHERING also will serve as a social gathering for all those interested in the various aspects of filmmaking.
